Brisbane to Gold Coast

Well some how I have been talked into doing the Brisbane to Gold Coast bike ride with Colin in 5 weeks time, leaving little time for training!! In fact it didn't take much talking into and I am really looking forward to it if for no other reason it forces me to get out there and do some training!! The race itself is from Southbank in Brisbane to Southport on the Gold Coast covering the full 100km between the two. Training has kicked off well though after week one you realise it isn't going to be a walk in the park. The past week I have done 4 rides ranging from 15 to 30km and it will only increase as time progresses. In 2 weeks Thommo and I will do a 50km ride from Surfers to Coolangatta and back just to make sure we are on track. If you have a few minutes check out http://www.bq.org.au/b2gc100/

South African Classics

Here are a couple of South African classics. The NYC Castle Lager Ad along with a fantastic home video on Braai Etiquette

Take the time to watch these, it is well worth it.

Thanks to Chateau Toby for pointing out these beauts.

New Patio

It has been a while though in between putting out my back and being bed bound for 2 days, work and doing loads of work on the house you can finally see some pictures showing that our work is starting to bear fruit. Our patio pergola/awning was finally erected yesterday. This is after about a month of back breaking work lifting bricks, re-shaping the area and throwing a new slab-all this work done by yours truly with loads of help from Sar's Dad and Mom. Finally yesterdaay the awning went up so phase 1 is complete. Phase 2 is the tiling of the area though I am planning on having a few weekends off before that takes place. here are the results:

Not Long Now

Not long now until the next post-have just had zero time to update though will make time over teh next 5 days-all we seem to have been doing is moving from Monday to Friday work with Sarah having started her new job at Seaworld to the bbq and weekend parties and working on the house. It doesnt look like slowing either as between now and november we have only got 3 weekends where nothing has been booked in though with the rugby world cup starting that is bound to change.
