What a weekend

Well this was one of those weekends that flew by from social outing to social outing stopping in between to catch your breath when you can-hell it was good though. We started off Saturday when we headed off to Brissie to catch up with Julie, Clayton and Ruby it was our turn to head north as the Wright's had visited us twice previously on the Coast. We headed up for an afternoon braai (bbq) where we spent most of the day in and out of the pool with a few coldies-it was the perfect way to relax, by the time Sar's and I had left it felt as though we had been there only a couple of hours and not the 6 that we had. Once we left the coast and headed back south we had no sooner walked through the door when we headed out across the road to Sam's 2nd birthday party and into about 40000 screaming, running and jumping kids from all over the hood, they seemed to have a blast as did the oldies who did the obvious thing while the kids burnt off their energy-we watched in amazement and wondered where they got their energy from. Once the youngsters had slowly faded off it became the adults turn to make some noise. Though I reckon that most of the adults were as exhausted as the kids!!!

Sunday we finally did what we have been threatening to do for a few months-went barefoot bowling!!!! Sarah, Karen and I headed off to broadbeach where we paid 4 bucks each to have an afternoon of barefoot bowls (picture above). What a blast it was, from the basement price for an afternoons entertainment we also found that the beer was still at 1970 prices-happy days. Ten bucks for a pitcher and about 50c a coke you had a recipe for a good time or a disaster depending on which way you look at it. We had a fabulous time and narrowly avoided the disaster. After around for or five hours of some good and more shocking bowls-I think we nearly broke a pensioners leg when we won't say who accidentally had the bias facing the wrong way and had the old duck hopping out of the way we decided it would be a good idea to head home. One thing is for certain we will be doing it again at some stage and highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they may enjoy the bowling or even if you just like the idea of drinking cheap beer in the sun, as I said there is something in it for everyone!!
